Rare early war transitional K98 bolt that was commonly used in rifles issued to the SS. See page 504-505 of Bruce Karem’s book Karabiner 98k. This comes with a floor plate assembly with matching serial numbers. This bolt was originally issued as a Gew 98 bolt, but was converted to a K98 bolt by the German Arsenal in Amberg, Germany. The bolt still has its original bluing as well as the Amberg proof mark under the bolt handle. The bolt also retains its original mostly matching serial numbers (8365) The only part that does not match is the safety lever (serial number 5345) and includes the early war proof marks from the Berlin Lubecker factory where it was used on an early war rifle. This bolt and floor plate would be perfect for your early war K98 and or SS Gew 98 / K98 conversion rifle restoration project.
