German Seamed Stockings (Sized)

These are vintage new old stock fully fashioned stockings that have never been worn. We added German markings and labels based on original WWII stockings in our collection. The text on the back of the paper label is patriotic cleaning instructions.

Vintage stockings are sized (they are not a one-size fits all). Please look at our chart to determine your size. Sizes are approximate; they don't take into account the width of the leg or the stretch of the stocking and can vary slightly. Most sizing charts list the sizes smaller than ours, however when tried on, we found they were a bit bigger than listed so we made our own chart to reflect that.

These are made just like they were in the 1940s, except they are a more durable nylon material - perfect for reenactments but with a little added strength (although they are still delicate)! These stockings are meant to be worn with a garter belt - you can't wear them without one. 

They are new old stock; they came from the warehouse of a store that went out of business years ago. They may have very minor imperfections, but nothing that detracts from the appearance or usefulness. There are some color variations between pairs (see photos). If you have a preference for darker or lighter stockings, you can add a note to your order (we will try to accommodate your request, but there are no guarantees).

Stockings were a very prized possession during WWII due to rationing. It would not be too unusual for a solider to be carrying them in his kit to use as bargaining tool with the locals. Stockings were available for officers to purchase for their wives to keep morale up at home.

STOCKINGS ARE DELICATE! The material is thin; they will run if not handled properly. Be careful not to get your fingernails caught in the material. Use caution if you remove the tag for use (making sure to keep sharp objects away from the material).
