All cups will be sold in a primer red color. The green one just shows how they look when finished.
These are the first and last reproductions of this quality that are likely to be made and when they are gone they are gone. I will not revisit this project.
The cups with stock markings are pre marked with the three letter code kem and could be dated from 40-41. They will also be marked with a stock serial number.
See photos to see the various markings available for custom marked tubes including other manufacturer codes. Marking choices are shown at the bottom of this page; The unusual font was designed based on several originals.
description: This is a reproduction of the early style tube cup for the 8cm Gr.W.34. Copied from an original in every visual detail minus the functionality. If you own a late war model dewat mortar and want to make it an early war model this will fit your original tube and is already missing all the parts you would have to destroy for your dewat cup. It is made from a mild steel; not even close to the same steel used on real cups; These could never handle the intense presures endured by the real deal. These are externally identical to the early cup with safety; the safety thumb screw can be removed and must be depressed to turn exactly like the original and also has 3 positions (fire-safe-install/remove), the threaded plug in the bottom can also be unscrewed like the original. Internally there is no place for a firing pin or carrier and crucial material is missing on the inside face of the cup so a space for the firing pin could not be made. Please see our reproduction tubes.
For those of you with enough ambition willing to research and follow all of the regulations this is a great piece to build your black powder signal cannon from for reenactments. It was designed as a parts piece to build a film quality, movie prop, signal cannon for simulated fire; much like the signal cannons used for civil war reenactments etc...
