Description: This is a nice early patern steel box for 8cm Gr.W.34 rounds; It is an early patern box with a mid-late war paint job. A good amount of the orignal paint and markings are intact and the internal racks are still present. The hinge pin has cracked at the nuckles but is strong enough that the pin could be replaced. There are paper labels on the inside lid. All of the small clips on the inside are present (these held in the spare charge container.) The wood handle is missing. The wood pieces on the inside are present, one is missing a small chunk. The box was preserved in Ukrainian mud. This is one of the best of the boxes that were found together. The surface has paint and rust but no holes. All in all, it is one of the best boxes I have seen. Many of these boxes no longer have the interior racks or were heavily used as tool boxes after the war.
