This is an original fallschirmjager helmet shell with the original bolts and nuts but no liner. The Shell is good and strong with no dents dings or holes. For the purpose of not being disappointed consider this helmet to have NO paint. The helmet has a rough appearance and is covered by a coating of inactive rust. I hesitate to call it pitting because there are no deep pits or craters the surface just has a rough appearance. There is some dark paint lightly spattered over the exterior of the shell. The bolts are snug and rough like the helmet but I think a braver man than myself could remove them without damaging the bolts nuts or shell. I believe the shell is marked "CKL 71" but I am not sure. It measures 73cm around the outside. All in all it is a good, solid, original shell.
