This is an all original 8cm German Mortar. This is a very nice early style variation of the 34; It has the safety mechanism in the ball of the tube. This is a great feature. Most of the tubes you will find are the late war variation without a safety. The mortar is complete overall. It appears that it was quickly restored and retains many German as well as postwar markings. The site block is present and looks like it will hold a sight though the mechanisms for tightening the sight down and locking it on appear to be missing. With the exception of the sight block all of the normally damaged bits are intact including the hooks that hold the bipod closed and the small rings on the base plate. It appears the hole that was cut in the side of the tube has been repaired, or at least repaired for display.
