This is a reenactment, field usable, replica of the wurfgranatpatrone 326 LP. The 326 was the precursor to the Z-pistol system. The 326 round was developed in the late 30's and entered use around 1940-41 and was very popular with fallschirmjaeger.
The aluminum cartridges are reusable and easily reloaded with .22 power loads found at any hardware store; they are commonly used to drive nails into conrete (they cost roughly $0.06ea.) That means the cartridges are a one time expense and reloading is a simple and cheap process. These casings are also good for more than just the wooden rounds. With this case you can now be free to experiment with a variety of fun things for your Leuchtpistole. I have even made up a party streamer round from party poppers. Once fired the .22 shell has to be removed by means of a metal rod from the inside. An appropriately sized Phillips head screwdriver works perfectly.
The new 3-piece 326 LP rounds are sold unpainted. They consist of; a PVC tail, a cardboard middle, and a resin/powder nose (the nose and tube are considered to be disposable while the tail is reusable.) These come with no fins attached! The fin stem is present so you can devise your own system. With yellow blanks these rounds can easily reach 150 yards or more thanks to the PVC base. The 3-piece, hollow design also allows you to develope your own filling; for example, a puff of smoke.
