I made these to determine if there is a market for cheap disposable rifle grenades for reenactors. If so I will continue to refine the rounds to make them better.
This Reproduction of the German Gewehr Spreng Granat 30 is made from a resin/powder mix and is biodegradable. These are designed to be useable at reenactments and to be cheap enough not to worry about recovering. These are not reusable. They are a bit like clay targets, a little fragile but inexpensive. Each piece weighs around 4oz. We are in the process of developing a sepcial low pressure blank for these.
The castings pick up a supprising ammount of detail from the mold, they actually look better than most of the solid resin repros sold elsewhere. Some rounds turn out better than others meaning there are air bubbles is some of the cast rounds and the fragile nature means they sometimes chip here or there. Thats the price of making them so inexpensive.
