This box is copied from an original. There may be other variations like any other German box so it may not look like the original tucked away in your closet but it was copied from an original. Much time and research went into this project and the end product turned out beautifully. The only flaw that I know of is the hinge knuckles. Originals normally have five knuckles on the hinges, these have three knuckles and they are slightly larger in diameter. Outside of that the box is perfect. These boxes are fitted with great reproduction hardware that is manufactured locally and made just for use on these boxes. These latches are not modern stock from Europe that look a lot like the old stuff, these are new made reproductions that look exactly like the old stuff.

Each box is of the highest possible quality and authenticity; they are sturdy, strong, and nearly identical to originals. That being said it must also be said that these boxes are NOT perfect. They are made just like the originals and, well, not everyone who put the originals together were experienced cabinet makers nor were these intended to be finished like fine, high end, cabinet work.

This would be an excellent addition to your collection for showing off your German rifle grenade hardware in museums, at public displays or for the re-enactor doing a Rifle Grenadier impression. Show everyone else up. Originals are great but these better show what German soldiers were using during the war.
