Description: Beautiful reproduction canteen straps with the caps already attached. These fit the .75 liter canteen (a standard German canteen.) Most reproduction straps available elsewhere do not include the attached cap and very often they don't even include the cap. The cap and clip are made locally for use on these straps only. The aluminum caps are beautifully reproduced from a late 1930's model. Two different versions of the cap are available; a deep version and a shallow version, both are correct and were common. The clips are are made from steel and painted a dark green that closely matches a green often found on original clips. Originals were painted either green or grey, these copy the green ones. The straps themselves are hand stitched with white thread and are done just like originals; These are very sturdy straps that replace originals nicely. Since this strap set does not require you to reuse your original cap; mint original hard ware can be nicely preserved. All types of standard issue cups should fit nicely over your assymbled canteen.
